Every small brand in hunting, tactical, and outdoor apparel hits the same wall: you can’t license Sitka’s Optifade, you can’t clone MultiCam without legal, and a studio commission runs $900–$2,400 with no science behind the result. RPR generates a unique, manufacturing-ready pattern from NASA satellite vegetation data, terrain elevation, and historical weather for any GPS point on Earth. Seed-locked for production.
Truth as architecture.

Founder
Hans Prahl — 21 years U.S. military intelligence (USMC & Army, ret., combat vet). 40 years in the Colorado backcountry. Built and sold a brewery before this. RPR is what happens when concealment doctrine, terrain literacy, and AI meet in one pipeline.
Process · one pipeline, three steps, every pattern

Modes · same data, three registers
Same satellite data, same biome — here, Denali Wilderness in winter. Three different aesthetic registers. Brands pick the lane that fits the line; the engine adapts. Sitka and Multicam can’t do this. RPR can, because the pattern is generated, not catalog.

Source dataset · all three modes derive from this
Pulled from NASA MODIS NDVI · SRTM elevation · Open-Meteo winter window. Reproducible from the seed at any time.

Tightly tessellated all-over print. Backcountry concealment, military and hunting apparel. The mode Sitka and Multicam compete in.

Bold landscape motifs at graphic scale. Recognizable terrain, brand-friendly. The space hunting brands moving into lifestyle want to occupy.

Pattern abstracted into vibe — watercolor, ink, washed silhouettes. Apparel brands that lead with art direction; the terrain is in the DNA, not on the surface.
How it works
RPR is not a style filter or a stock library. Each pattern is a measured composite — built from real terrain data, scored against the ground truth, benchmarked head-to-head against the catalog camos brands have been licensing for decades. Same coordinates, same seed, same pattern. Every time.
Data gathered from earth
Licensee provides one or more coordinates. RPR pulls NASA MODIS NDVI, SRTM elevation, NLCD land cover, and Open-Meteo weather for the target window. Resolution is meters, not regions.
Vegetation profile (canopy density, species mix, seasonal die-back) and terrain morphology (elevation banding, slope, aspect, ridge structure), extracted for day and night separately.
Real ground-truth photos of the target terrain are pulled and analyzed. Pattern decisions are anchored to what the place actually looks like, not a stylized abstraction.
Pattern composed from data
Sun angle, moon phase, thermal IR window, and seasonal drift are computed for the target window. The pattern is built for when it has to work, not just where.
Claude proposes the palette and pattern logic from the analyzed data and reference imagery. Each color is justified by terrain biology, not aesthetics alone.
Pattern field is built — macro shapes, micro texture, terrain-harvested detail patches, and natural-element silhouettes — at the proposed palette.
Validated, benchmarked, finalized
The rendered pattern is measured against the source terrain on a multi-axis Concealment Index. The score is a fact about the pattern, not marketing language.
RPR scores head-to-head against Multicam, Sitka Optifade, Kryptek, and Mossy Oak on the licensee's specific terrain. You see how your custom pattern compares to the catalog.
Final manufacturing-ready file is rendered at 2048+ resolution on a production diffusion pipeline, seam-locked via periodic decomposition, and stamped with a reproducible seed.
Deliverables
One license, one pattern, one file pack. No subscription, no recurring generation fees, no surprise add-ons. Drop it into your existing supplier workflow and run.
Production-resolution PNG and TIFF at full repeat, seamless on all four edges. Drops straight into sublimation, print-on-demand, or screen workflows.
Pantone-adjacent values for the dominant 3-6 colors in the pattern. Spec trim, piping, and coordinated solid-color pieces. Communicate targets to your mill or POD partner.
The GPS coordinates, data-source revisions, and seed value used to produce the pattern. Reproduce or re-license against a known-good record.
Counterparty (Prahl Investments LLC), term, applications, exclusivity, and territorial scope. Drafted to drop into your existing supplier paperwork.
One-page narrative PDF — the GPS source, season, vegetation type, terrain story behind this specific pattern. Marketing fuel for product pages, email, and copy. Where most camo brands have a marketing story, you have a data story.
On-garment renders available on request to support your launch — typically 2-3 garment types. Real product photography is on the licensee.
